Burial permits for the Board of Health for the City of Saint John can hold valuable genealogical information, such as father's name, cause of death and burial location.

 

An index to the permits can be found on the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick's website. 

 

Images of the permits can be viewed on the FamilySearch website. A free account is required to access their records. Once you log in, the permits are found under Search, select Records, then go to Search by Place and select Canada, then New Brunswick. Once you find the Saint John Burial Permits collection on that list, you can search by name.
